First of all you have to get past the fact that Alexander Fury is typing all of Lady Gaga’s responses on his laptop live. He thinks he has a good reason for doing it but at first it is really irritating and Gaga is visibly uneasy about it. I thought to myself “I don’t know if I can watch this with him typing” but the truth is, it turned out to be wonderful. Of course I couldn’t turn away because of how much I adore Lady Gaga and listening to her speak so candidly drew me in like a moth to a flame but as the interview goes on I realize what he is doing, that annoying typing, is creating a rather unique atmosphere. It is giving Gaga time to be reflective and really thoughtful about all of her replies. Traditional reporters tend to give you a quick time slot, here is the question now give us your fast off the cuff answer so we can move on to plug your CD or whatever but here, in this instance she gets to do so much more. She is speaking from the heart as she always does but in this interview she is given the opportunity to be her sincere and sweet self all the way through.
I love how she used the word zeitgeist, that is going to send the Gaga conspiracy theorists into a frenzy. It is beyond laughable that so many people believe she has a “one world order” agenda and that she is merely a “puppet of the powers that be”, oh please, anyone with eyes can see clearly Gaga is the puppet master and her “agenda” is of her own making, no one is coercing her to be anything. She is who she is and who that is changes with her moods just like it does for all of us who are willing to embrace ourselves and refuse to deny our innate craving to “be something special”.
Lady Gaga is the most genuine celebrity we have had the pleasure of meeting in a long time and perhaps she will set a new president by setting the bar so high that other celebrities are forced to keep it real just to keep up with her. I have been writing this as I watch the interview and at 39min she touches on what I was just trying to explain. She speaks on “The Legends” and says the one thing all of them have in common is that they are “the nicest most wonderful human beings you have ever met in your life and that has been… that has freed me”.
