Just a quick question to the those who think the whole point of stumbleupon was to find interesting and new websites/ideas with the click of one button

How many interesting and new websites/ideas have *you* added to the SU engine?

Honestly I thought I’d keep on clicking even if I wasn’t blogging – but that wasn’t the case.

And for the record I’ve over 7000 discoveries, up until last year – and I’m by far and away not one the top power users / submitters. These are the people SU has lost.

I agree with Luther. I actually thought the whole point of stumbleupon was to find interesting and new websites/ideas with the click of one button. I think the whole world should stumble an hour a day. You can literally see things in an hour on stumbleupon that you never thought you’d be interested in.

I agree with you Luther..SU was not intented for long,drawn out blogging…but those who had a word to say kinda forced SU into overreaching their platform. Now SU is paring down and the bloggers can go to blogger heaven somewhere else. But now SU has shat where it sleeps and it is ruined for good.

@Luther because you don’t understand it, it makes everyone else’s experience irrelevant? No one said other services replicate the random site generation that SU does. We just are so angry that years of posts, friendships, and links were junked for the purpose of catering to people like you who don’t get it. SU was our home. You not having the same experience does not make our experience less valid.

I’ve never understood the people who use stumbleupon for blogging. I use it for an easy interface to find new websites I otherwise wouldn’t have. A couple of my friends send me sites, but even that isn’t the main goal. It’s: “Oh look, I have fifteen minutes. I wonder what the internet has to offer.”

Before you say that other services do the same thing, nothing provides the one click random new information in a sleek way like stumbleupon.

I hate to just say I agree, but you pretty much summed it up.
It’s sad that people are just leaving rather than telling them how bad it is.
But from what I have seen even telling them does no good.
SU just “Blue Skies” them.

I found you via the stumblebutton through some strange quirk of fate. I’ve been a stumbler since 2007? I think? Somehow, and I’m not complaining, I was recently switched back to the old Stumbleupon. How it happened I haven’t a clue, one day it just switched back? But were I forced to continue using the new Stumbleupon I would stumble no more.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to get busy speeding up the earth’s rotation.

I agree thoroughly .Indeed SU has lost its wizardly way for sharing with.Manyfold Blogs embedded in SU were,perhaps,the uppermost ranked in WEB.They were built-in so carefully and masterly.Forsooth SU is fading away.What a pity! Alvarson
