I was one of the first two million to be a “Stumbler”. It was never the same after “EBay” It was no longer “social”, just user generated content, mostly from idiots.

The new version should absolutely be abandoned. It is dull, boring and hard to navigate. Most of the intelligent stumblers are gone or will be gone shortly.

Yes, it was on the Wiki page and it was changed after everyone started gripping about it but the statement was never denied being said by SU and they had ample opportunity to do so if they wanted.

Behind what account? This website? That is common knowledge. As for “why”, originally because I wanted a website to share the stuff I found on SU/tumblr/the internet with people who maybe didn’t have an SU account, in an attempt to draw them in. Obviously I wouldn’t recommend joining to anyone now. I plan to change domain name soon.

Lastly, while this article is fact based (and brimming with them) it is also full of the opinions of all the users, including my own. The WHOLE POINT of this article is simply THAT SU DOESN’T LISTEN TO USER FEEDBACK. Pays NO ATTENTION WHAT SO EVER to the COUNTLESS users telling them they are making the worst mistake in their companies history. Telling me to “skip to the facts” only shows you don’t comprehend the article in the first place. Thank you for your comment XD

afaik that was on a wikipedia page and was probably added by a disgruntled user.

I totally agree – and their attitude towards bloggers like myself forced me to walk.

They complained I was submitting too much of my own material when I was submitting 1 of my own in 5-10 pages, they were telling me to buy advertising! how does get stuffed sound?

SU is going to die a slow painful death, the only reason it has not been faster? there is no competing service.

Unbelievably bad. Horrible. Awful. Disapppointing. A good application gone bad. What used to be an exemplaary social networking site has become a commercial nightmare. The original concept of friends was consistently denied. There were some wonderful aspects to earlier versions but those have been forsaken. SU asked for feedback and it got it. But it wasn’t willing to listen. All I can say is too bad. SU was more than thumbs up and thumbs down. Now it is less. It’s a tragedy and regrettable.

Excellent demolition. Do we have stats on their current membership and recruitment curve?

Minor correction, they didn’t actually delete content, just made it impossible to read.

I now use them for my own purposes, as a scratch pad to remind me I want to do a serious response on the Wordpress blog they forced me to migrate to. For which I’m actually grateful. It’s a much more rewarding experience, though I do resent the noticeable decline in the quality of (non shared) stumbles. They must be paying people to thumb up some of the commercial shit. Can’t believe any rational stumbler would voluntarily thumb up that kind of crap…
